its the 7.5 i was going to replace my 3.73 with it but i want 3.08 or 3.23's now. i used a mini spool in my car,i like it. you still need a 3 series carrier.

i have the cast manifolds on mine too. one less thing to worry about!

i have the gear. its used, came out of a car i put a lower gear in.not sure what its worth?

i have been thinking about this today and i realized that you might have a broken oil control ring,it would smoke bad with no loss of compression.and if it was a leaking intake seal it would have a vacum leak and run bad. i don't think it is a valve seal, but i'm just a parts changer. :wink: hth

chuck you probly know this but the stock seals were just o rings so it could have broke. but as i said before i don't think that what it is.

yeah it's hard to beat a 400. i had one in a 67 nova 9'' tire street car that went 9's in the 1/4 on the juice! :eek:

the end of your compression tester makes a great air hose for the cyl. i have some of the o ring style valve seals. hope that fix's it!

if you have a place to store the 85 i would think about it for a while. i had the same issue, i started on a clone car and then found the gn i wanted so i bought it. take my advice,you can't get any money for a cloned car.you will be better off to fix the t type. if the 7.5 is a 3.08 gear i have...
