how hard are those engines to find? should i look for a non turbo car as a doner car and get the turbo somewhere else?

how hard is it to swap in a v6 turbo in place of a small block chevy? what would you have to do? also, how hard is it to get 300hp at the wheels out of one? this is what the 89 turbo trans am had stock(rated at 250 though)

my dad has an 81 monte carlo with a buick v6 turbo. if isn't in very good shape, it drives ok but the turbo dosn't work and it has a huge vacume leak. he swears its worth 20+k but i don't think so. does anyone know what there worth?

i want to build my 2004r to take about 400-450lb/ft of trq. what do i need to do? i don't want to take it apart completely becaust i don't know that much about trannys. my brother can help me, he's been working at a dealer on trannys for about 4 months now so i should be able to do most thngs...

i might be swaping a 283 out for a 400. the 400 will be making about 400ft lbs of trq. i have an 87 th-2004r, will it last about a year or 2? if i get a shift kit will it help?

there must be a vacume leak somewhere i guess. it idles pretty high and it you try to slow it down it will run real rough and die. the vacume on the boost guage only goes down to about 5, shouldn't it go to about 13-15? i'm probably going to have to have someone look at it and try to sort it...

in park it opens if you give it almost 1/4 throttle. is this too early? how much should the boost go up to when its working right?

i'l check it the way you say but the arm on the top of the turbo which is for the wastegate right? when you give it gas it moves. does this indicate the acuator is working?

i have an 81 monte carlo with a buick v6 turbo in it from the factory. the boost wont go above 1.5psi. i'm not sure what the problem is exactly but i think it might be the vacume lines. what could it be?
