    FAST tuning questions

Your thinking is a bit flawwed with respect to the A/F ratios... when cruising.. the leanest point in my truck map is 13.5 I know you are thinking 14.7:1 is stoic, but that really means nothing.. if you have the table setup so that your corrections are 0% that just means you have your VE...

Would 83lb injectors be overkill for my combo or safe?

I have 83#'s in my Typhoon.. same situation.. got a good deal on them.. they idle as good as the stockers did. Hope that helps.

    Injector Time

Injector opening time is an assumption that you give the computer to use in some of its calculations. If you say = 1.0 you are not physically changing the "open" time... you are just telling the ECU that is takes approximately 1ms for injector to open. Hope that helps. Nick

New GN Owner - Few Questions after long searches

I will keep that in mind on the centers... yeah I did get a great price on it... he was asking $3500.. I walked in expecting to pay a little more, but this is where I ended up. I figure the car will bring 3500 or 4000 ... I have been driving it everyday since I bought it.. so it is running...

New GN Owner - Few Questions after long searches

Hey guys... I knew there were some locals somewhere. I will check the boost controller again today. I was thinking I would just put a manual boost controller on there just so I could runa bit more boost. I would like to get it back to "stock" running trim though. I may take you up on...

New GN Owner - Few Questions after long searches

Well the guy was not a mechanic, and he knew the car had a lot of mileage on it. Like I said, WG is operating fine.. I hooked the outlet on the compressor directly to the WG actuator, 10 psi, so all if fine there. I will put the lines back on, but I did not see any leaks... I bought some...

New GN Owner - Few Questions after long searches

Well to start with.. the car is a 1987 GN.. I bought it from the original owner. It has had immaculate care taken of it mechanically. All the maintenance is documented, etc. The car is bone stock. Like I said, yesterday I did, Belt, plugs, wires, oil, replaced all of the bulbs that were...

New GN Owner - Few Questions after long searches

I have a few questions.. the first should be a simple one... what is the stock turbo on an '87 GN... TA60? The car was overboosting.. so I checked the boost control solenoid and it does not appear to be hooked up correctly.. or at all. Does anyone have a diagram from the service manual, etc...

Where to start - is there a list for newbies

I will follow the "spring cleaning" thing and check all of the vacuum lines this weekend if I have time. I am hoping all of the transmission parts come the Typhoon... that project needs to be completed first. Thanks for the assistance so far.... lots to do to clean it up too. Nick

Where to start - is there a list for newbies

Man.. thanks.. that is EXACTLY what I was looking for. The maintenance part is what I was concerned with. Once I get that stuff I will be trying to correct the over boosting. Thanks again.

Where to start - is there a list for newbies

Well today I bought a bone stock '87 GN and it has been well maintained by the original owner. The car has 186,800 on it and he has all the maintenance records. I bought it really cheap and am looking at where to start. The car drives great... when you stand on it, it shows the classic...

I have started this up the same as everyone else here... I got a system... started playing with it and asking questions. With some help from this board and www.syty.net and some off line help from board members, I was able to get mine nearly perfect with about a total of 6 hours of work. I...
