Alright thanks. I just CC'ed my heads today and got 48 and 49 after a 3 angle valve job. Just making sure the valves didnt recess too much into the head
car is not gonna be pretty much stock. i am on a pretty tight budget so i'm trying to do it piece by piece. turbo will be upgraded hopefully by spring. i'm looking to go mid to low 11's once i'm done.
engine is getting rebuilt. i'm looking at injectors and it seems like alot of people us 009's but some people are running out of injector once they are running mid to low 11's. i am on a budget so i wont be doing any serious modifications for a while after the engine is built. so far i have the...
also right now i have the stock turbo. i decided to rebuild the engine before i started throwing parts at it in case anything went on it, so i bored it .030 over and put speed pro forged pistons on the stock rods with the stock crank. i'm not looking for anything too aggressive so i think that...
stock cam is pretty worn with 171,000 miles on the clock. would the speedpro cam need any ecm mods because i thought i heard somewhere that with one of the comp cams that the ecm needed to be modded. i would go with a roller cam, but money is pretty tight around here haha
.002 clearance
the main crank journals must be measured to see how close they are to factory spec. depending on how much under spec they are, you would need to get bearings that size. for main bearings they are undersize.
I would go at least 800 miles. The camshaft is broken in in the first 5 minutes of running the engine but the piston rings have to get broken in too. For high performance motors they beat on them right away but that leads to burning oil. I would say 800 is a good mileage to break in your engine...
i am rebuilding my engine and i'm looking at camshafts right now. does anyone use the comp cam High Energy 260 H cam? if so how do you like it? if there is a better cam i am open to suggestions. i'm not really looking to get a hydraulic roller because i'm on a budget and they are a little too...
