You won't gain a bunch with an exhaust so I agree. Keep the stocker on there or at least something quiet. V6 GM motor sound like ass without a turbo on em. LOL
Honestly I'm not sure on the smaller and/or older trucks. On the new body style trucks we share the same PCM with the Vettes and F-bodies so we use HP Tuners or LS1 Edit. The small trucks/SUVs use a different PCM and there is not normal tuning for them so I'm not sure what you can do. I'd check...
Not yet. We're finishin up the Z71 (going back to N/A duty with a new high compression motor, heads/cam etc) before I can put the 02' in the shop. All the parts are paid for an ordered and the motor is almost finished at the machine shop so hopefully the transformation will start in the next...
That was dumb. You said the word nitrous... Everyone knows nitrous is MUCH cheaper than any form of FI when comparing initial purchase price. :D
Nitrous/Heads/Cam is a tried and true way to a great 1/4mile. But we all know what happens when the bottle runs out or you get tired of refilling...
Yup, us GM turbo guys gotta stick together no matter what body the turbo is in. :)
I don't have a website setup right now. I am going to put one together soon to showcase the build up of the Silverado and have a nice place for people to get info on the GMC as well.
Until then you can...
Ohh forgot to mention. The reason he was catching up so quick is my intake tube back near the turbo kept popping off after the 1/8th so I had to lift. That's why you see a 12.9@94mph LOL That was a horrible 2.1 60' also. The 1/8th mile times were 8.0@86.2mph
My suspension fix was to crank down the torsion bars up front and by doing so lower the front 1.25". Worked like a charm and now it launches smooth as a baby. On all my 12.3@109-110mph runs I was getting 1.80-1.85 60's and it was perfect. :)
The truck starts to creep forward once I hit about...
Usually it's no problem at all. I just strayed off the beaten path and did my own thing. I only had lag issues at a dead stop. Once rolling boost came on pretty quick. At the track it wasn't an issue either.

Almost everyone I know ends up putting an intercooler on the STS kit and sees great gains. On low boost it's true you don't usually need one but you CAN benifit from one. Or the meth injection.
Lag also isn't an issue unless you go big like I did. LOL
