    3800 swap into LeSabre T

I always wanted to do one too. They look like 'lil GN's, with a GN spoiler.

    oil leaks

Front or rear? Usually valve cover gaskets go first, and oil just blows around and look like it's everywhere. You really should get a flashlight and look while it's running, carefully... Look for the highest, wettest spot.

    need help

Checking spark at the plug is useless on our cars. If it only misses under a load, acceleration, it's the coils or module. To check; pull off a plug wire @ the coil and move it out of the way. Start the motor and if the coil does NOT spark to the nearest bolt, that coil is bad or module. To...

Does anyone have a certain car the regret selling? post pics/stories.

I don't know if this is his, but my dad ordered an SS396/325hp Camaro, in Corvette Bronze, black p-leather interior with a muncie 4spd and posi traction, with this bumble-bee stripe, hard-top and all. I'd love to have it back, it was my dad's first new car. They want $69,500 for this one...

    slow boost

Also check some of the vacuum lines, could be leaking going to the gage. Or is it slowly accelerating also?

    Rod noise

Did you try a compression check for possible piston slap?

    95 3800 supercharger engine noise

If it has no power, it might be in the timing chain or valvetrain, or a "piston slap" causing low compression. I'd remove all the spark plugs, screw in a compression gage in each cylinder and see if a cylinder is a lot lower in pressure. If you find a low cyl, squirt some motor oil in the spark...

    Rod noise

Are you sure it's not the Supercharger's coupler, found where the pulley snout bolts to the body. Mine was pretty noisy, worse than lifters. I found a kit on Ebay with lube and everything for under $50. Have you run it w/o the belt to the supercharger? Another knock noise I had was the...

    98gtp third brake light

I have no specific experience with that but, sometimes several bulbs will physically work but have different internal resistences, make sure you get the correct part number bulb, especially on turn signals. Try also applying some bulb grease in the socket, to get a better ground, which can...

    deal or no deal?

Around here they average twice that price for a '98, if you can do the body work, it sounds good to me. Some updates: It has the bigger M90 Eaton supercharger, capable of low 14 second passes, and I'm looking for one like that for a play toy/daily here too. The P/Ave Ultra I have still...

    Trans slips on left turns...

I should add that those left turns were "rolling" left turns, and the trans would shift out of gear instead of just downshifting. Oh, and sometimes in the morning when I drop it in gear, it takes a few seconds for the trans to catch and start moving...like it's a fluid issue.

    Trans slips on left turns...

My '95 PA Ultra has been slipping out of gear on Full Throttle-left turns and sometimes when cold, it slips out @ Wide Open Throttle going straight. I also had this problem with my '91 Regal 3800 4spd auto, which I never figured out either, and it wasn't an electric trans...or at least it...

Checking ignition coils: chasing a misfire.

I've also noticed the coil pack mounting bracket gets very hot, and heat kills modules. White "Heat Sink Grease" should be checked and reapplied every year, between the module and the mounting bracket. Removing the coils will allow the module to be lifted up to check. Radio Shack carries it...

Checking ignition coils: chasing a misfire.

I don't know if this has been posted for the FWD 3800's. I found a simple way to check the dual-output DIS coils, and it's worked every time for me. Coil Check: -Simply pull off one plug wire from the coil. -Start the motor. -If the coil sparks to the nearest mounting screw, it's good...
