Looking for a 21-2200 stall (per Comp Cams recommendation) lockup 27 spline for cruisin behind a moderate V8. Finding rebuilders are using lo-po V6 cores due to a shortage of high performance cores. Some say this doesn't matter? In the aftermarket B&M for instance doesn't offer them, others...
Trying to button up pan using a common lockup recipe, these are not found by my GM dealer:
8627332 Normally open/pressure closed switch
24205373 Single pin TH400 kick-down connector switch
14014519 Low-vacuum switch
I don't have the typical brake light switch, have a pressure switch...
I'm replacing a THM350 3000 stall with an R4 3000 stall in a street rod SBC cruiser.
Currently has a large external cooler on the frame (no fan) which seems to deal with the 350. Will the 200R4 run any hotter or is more sensitive to heat than the 350? I have a large aluminium radiator...
Two things I never attempted are setting gear lash and automatic transmissions. That said, a retired teacher who ran a vocational transmission shop took apart/reassembled a BQ core I bought "rebuilt" guy honestly claimed he never could get it to "shift right"
Point is WITH the correct tools...
Pulling together parts to finally have a 200 R4 done. Have a complete BQ trans and also have a seperate Grand Nat purple stripe valve body. Which one will give me the higher shift points? Other considerations?
