Casper engine harness

Has anyone bought and installed the casper complete engine harness. I pulled the motor out of my 87 GN to detail the compartment and was looking at purchasing their engine harness. Just curious on how it was and if it was easy to install in factory location. I already have passenger wheel well out.

Don't have one but have heard great things. And if they are like all their other products - they'll be awesome.

I installed one, no issues same as OEM as much as I could tell. I did a conversion to 87 so could not compare to old harness, but everything lines up accordingly.

were you able to use the L shaped hard plastic wire loom on the harness?

Are they even still available? Don't see it on their website anymore.

I bought one from Caspers back in the late 90's when my stock harness was giving me fits. The installation was easy for me because I didn't have a heater box in the car, so my advice would be to pull out the plastic inner wheel well to do it properly where the harness comes through the firewall if you still have your heater box in the car. I just pulled it out last year and made a custom harness because I was starting to get electrical issues again. That had nothing to do with the Caspers harness, it was me pulling my motor in and out of the car over the last 17 years and tugging on the harness. That harness is a life saver if you are having problems. You will have no issues with it. A question that you could ask before purchasing it is, is the engine harness separate, or does it also come with the harness that goes into fuse box on the driver side. I pulled out my buddies harness the other day and his car has a completely stock harness in there. The fuse box harness is also connected to the engine harness. It gives power to the ignition module and I believe one of the components near the map sensor. Just take your time installing it, and make sure you anchor it properly so the harness is secure on the fire wall and outer fenders. You want to avoid movement near the connections so nothing is being moved around that eventually cause you grief.

Casper includes the fuse box portion with their engine harness. I want to purchase one but I just want to know if I can reuse the L shaped wire loom on the back side and drivers side of the engine. I want to keep a stock looking appearance.

I don't believe I was able to retain that with my harness because my harness I got from Caspers was for a StageII motor with StageII heads. Best thing to do is go direct to the source and ask. If it doesn't that shouldn't be a deal breaker. The engine will always be the focal point when you open the hood. The harness will actually enhance the motors appearance after it's installed because it's brand new.

Just bought a new engine harness and misc new sensors from caspers. They were great to work with. Very happy with their customer service.

No I just bought a brand new caspers engine harness. My stock harness is all original and unmolested but just wanted to replace since I have motor out.

Just curious why would u replace a perfect unmolested harness if ur not experiencing issues.......?

How much washipped new harness btw?

I replaced my 15k original miles harness because it's 30 yrs old. Don't need any issues with old Wiring

Same reason GN has 51,000 miles on her and I don't want any issues with 30 year old wiring. While I have motor out best to change wiring harness. Make the job a whole lot easier
