Went out two weeks ago and saw 20+ Dow only onpe 4 point and he was 300+yards away ( I was carrying a 30/30 with iron sights ) . Only my second time out hunting and I learned a lot but didn't kill anything .

Im not a hunter but I have friends that have them hanging in the shed already. They live on 250 acres in Kentucky . Their Idea of Breakfast is go outside and shoot a squirrel.

That's actually a good meal if fried with potatoes.;) Been scouting the farm and haven't seen a single one so far.:( I think the goats are keeping them away. The nice thing is the pond is full and I can see it completely from the front porch so I may not have to sit in a blind this year.:D Sit at the kitchen table, drink coffee. and watch from the window. Guess I'm getting old.:p

I got my bow in April and never had 1 before so I'm kinda green at the sport. I practiced practiced and practiced some more. I have shotgun hunted around here 2 previous years but with a bow a 40 yd shot is kinda long. I didn't have a range finder initially so I was kinda guessing. I made some mistakes early on in the season which began on sept 16. I couldn't hunt the first couple weeks because I was helping take care of somebody. I didn't get out til about begining of October . I made some crappy shots and realized I needed a range finder and I figured where the deer were. It's not a giant deer by any stretch probably only 100 pounds but it was about 25-30 yds and within my range so I took it. There were 3 others that day but they were 60-80 yds away

Nice job. I've been doing it since I was 10 I'm 28. I've killed many deer but the big one always seems to outsmart me. I missed a nice 9 two weeks ago. Came in grunting. I'm heading out to the stsbd in the morning. Wish me luck.

I have some good trail cam pics and some pics of monster deer my buddies have killed. Have been in the woods this year due to this.

Department of Natural Resources and a biologist from Purdue University confirmed it as a 100+Lb mountain lion. Can't carry any firearm into the woods during archery season so I don't feel like being it's next meal. They also don't know how it got here but they believe there are a couple more in the area. The worlds largest exotic feline rescue center is about 50 miles south and they have had lions escape before. Not going to risk my life for a deer. Nope! Not worth it.

I was texted this 2-3 days ago supposedly in van buren Maine. The problem is there aren't supposedly any mountain lions in the northeast. Oh yeah we had 1 get run over on the highway about 1 1/2 years ago but there supposedly haven't been any here in CT in about 100 years. The dep couldn't deny it once it was everybody saw it. Weeks before it got ran over everybody was crazy or seeing things

Our deer hunting has been really slow here. 2012 we were hit hard wtih desease that killed off lots of deer in some areas. Again this year we are finding more dead deer. I found this buck along with several others just in the last month. Its a real bummer and major hit to our population.
I added a go-pro to my bow this year which makes my outings very enjoyable to review with my kids when I get home. Here is a picture from yesterdays hunt.

That picture has been floating around the internet for several years. It is actually from a south Texas ranch

Well. Gun season started here in New Jersey. Took the trusty .50 cal Thompson center out this morning. I get to my tree and some POS stole my treestand. So I sit on the ground. I tell myself 15 more minutes. And I'm packing up my stuff and this guy walks out. I missed this guy two weeks ago with my bow. He was facing me and ready to take off. So I took a front facing shot. Not the best place but I was confident at 75yds. This is my biggest buck to date. It's a main frame 8 with a kicker on his G2

No luck on the deer but I thought I'd show what I walk out to every morning.;) Since we cleans up around the place I can see the pond and it's got ducks on it for the first time ever. Some Teal, redheads, and gadwall so far. We still have some white wing dove hanging around as well. Still no deer though.:(

Nice deer, really sucks about your tree stand getting stolen. I've had 3 taken through out the years, man talk about leaving you bitter we you go to get in it & it's gone. I hate a thief!
