I hear the sound of going into obscurity....kinda sounds like a toilet flushing

Dang, you guys are harsh.

I think it's a fine start. Some $$$ and a bunch of TLC and the end result would be a nice show car/ movie display. After an initial purchase of $5000 and another $15,000 in upgrades, it would surely be worth $15,000.

Well, maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration but you get my drift. LOL. I am really loving the ride height. It sits down nicely on the tires.

Hell to the naw! 32k I can build one pretty bad and make my own version of that movie that aint stupid and all that sh*t..

Fast your not going to stuff that up anybody here even using a 15 pound sledge.

, a case of lube, and a truck load of Extacy.

I suggest maybe a ricer forum would be better,

Best of luck.

movie cars

Thanks for the question. For all of you who have never owned a movie car, let me help you understand a couple things. When you go to a car show, Grand Nationals aren't the most popular car. Even a super low mileage one might draw some interest for its originality, but typically the cars aren't appreciated for what they are and the history they represent. Muscle was dead in the eightees and at least the GNs had some punch and kept things alive. There is no denying that cars on the big screen sometimes can be the stars themselves. People can identify with their love of automobiles with their favorite car on screen. When the 68 Mustang driven by Steve McQueen catches the Charger in Bullit, Ford fans around the world grin and wish they were in the car speed shifting themselves. Mercedes fans imagine themselves cruising to Vegas in a 69 280 SE convertible after seeing "The Hangover", and wouldn't it be cool to have your own 89 Batmobile cruising the annual 4th of July Parade downtown in your city? Therefore, when you have a chance at owning a piece of Hollywood like this GN, it takes on a lot more than just a cut up POS as some of you refer to the car. At the car show, with a simple sign out and some history drawn up on it, this car transforms itself into a show stopper. People love to look at the engineering of the stunt brake. They check out the design of the cage, ask what a fuel cell is, marvel at all the guages and imagine themselves in the car as the star does a 180 spin driving backwards and bangs against a fuel tanker to save his girlfriend. Suddenly you are surrounded by fans asking questions and wondering just how you got this cool piece of history. Most don't even care its a GN as they are more interested in the stardom of the car. The real GN enthusiast looks at the car and appreciates the notariety the car brings to his own love for the body style. This is the first GN that has been so featured in a huge franchise and that is what makes the car valuable. 32k is rather cheap for such a prominent piece. An Eleanor Mustang from the movie Gone in 60 Seconds recently sold for close to $450,000. The Hero 70 Charger from Fast Furious 1 sold for $225,000. The nice thing about this GN is that it won't drop in value as there are plenty of GNs around to buy. None will have the notariety and history that this car has. You can snub the car all you want but it is not trying to be a beautifully restored, numbers matching bla bla bla... you can get those all day long on ebay, this site, craigslist or whatever. This car is the star of the GNs and stands out in History verified on screen for everyone to see. Thanks for your interest and yes this was a hero car.

That isnt the car shown in the movie and I would not pay 32k for the car unless you get a signature to prove that V.D. drove that car. I have owned a few movie cars so the sales pitch isn't going to work unless you got a ton of proof.

If you can prove that Ill gladly come buy it and I want to see it signed so I know it isnt one of the faked sigs and this isnt a faked movie car.

I been in the business for along time and Im not that old, but I have seen a ton of faked movie cars claiming to be the hero car. Now I believe that this was a stunt double car. It however is not the one they show the inside view of.

and can get some detailed pics of the inside and trunk area maybe some underneath it of the suspension etc...

Oooh Fast, that's not a good comparison.

Steve McQueen sat in that Mustang.....and he knew how to drive, he and that car will tied together in history forever.

Vin and his stunt doubles MAY have sat in that thing.

The most popular car at a car show is the nicest car there, as voting will dictate. I certainly didn't bring my GN to car shows to win. I used it as transportation to go look at other peoples hobbies. I didn't have to stuff it in a garage and put 50 miles on a year because I was afraid to drive it .

"The star of the GN's" ? The stars of the TR's are right here on this board.

I would pay more for Dave Nevarro's GN because Carmen Electra gave it to him.

I can't speak for anyone else here, but when I heard that there was going to be a TR in that movie I could only hope it would be a respectful accurate depiction. It was not, it is not. Ebay, Import Forums, Craigslist may yield a kinder response.

You can not come here and expect to not get a little guff.

Yeah we like it when there's a little press on these cars. Occasional David Spade sightings, older movies, etc.

We hold the history of the TR here on these pages. I think we would be better to decide if this car has any historic merit.

Like I said before, There's an arse for every seat.

subscribing purely for nothing more than the entertaining responses to come...... ;)

I think it's a Regal made to look like a GN made to look like a GNX made to look like a early eighties NASCAR made to look like a petroleum tanker battering ram.

that's just me.

That could be possible too cause if they wouldve called for any of cars or stuff for the stupid movie I wouldve hung up on them.

Got to love hollywood they could screw up a wet dream!

gn/gnx/whatever

Be glad it's not a gnx. Be glad that they didn't ruin a mint car in the making of the movie. Because if it was all the gn nut hugger's on here would be crying about it. Take it for what it's worth. At least they used a Buick in the movie. The gn is respected regardless. The movie stuff helps more people to know about them as there aren't 100,000 of them in every town like rustang's and cowmaro's

I could give a rat's ass about Hollywood. Bunch of coked up narsistic asshats that have too much money. It's still a POS. Unless it's a real classic custom from Barris, etc or some modern custom builder it's just a hacked up POS that happened to be in a movie. SO WHAT. I don't need my ego stroked at a car show by a bunch of pubecent boys with boners asking if it has NOSSSS, oh PLEAASE. Especially for 32k. I'd rather buy a 500 mile TTA and drive it all over the place. There are several members of this board that have REAL legendary cars that in our hearts are worth the money you're asking for non-legend. Sell your wears on some dumbass F&F fan club...

got weld rod?

ive got an 85 roller with some tubing and my welder its worth 30gs too ? it was in americas wildest police chases but i got away does that make it worth more than 30gs ? and i did all my own stunts ..
