Latest Progress with the Monster S510 91mm Turbo

What's the deal with it lunging forward so hard prior to leaving?
It's a creep feature I'm still working on. This was the first testing of it. I have some adjusting still to do with it.

By the way, great front air dams you got started there.
 
Don, is that the creep feature in the XFI your referring to? If so. I'm interested in the details..going 400 sometime soon and plan to use this feature...maybe some info on the settings??? pm's ok too...

It is a simple electronic device that I put together myself. I actually had a lot of fun putting it together.
I found out after the track day that I was turning the pw control knob the wrong direction. I was actually making the creep more jerky throughout the day rather than making it less jerky. Now I'm clear on which direction to turn the knobs for the next time out with the car. :rolleyes:
 
Start with a frequency setting around 25-35 hertz and a pulse width setting of around 25-35%. When you start actual testing, I would work the frequency setting first, then the pulse width. You may find you have to go back and forth with each setting until you find a good balance for your particular situation. You'll eventually find a window where the setting is very sensitive. Some transbrake spool valve work would probably do wonders to help make the setting less sensitive. I've started some work on that point that looks very promising.
 
The staging process had already started the bouncing process. When you get the creep feature figured out that will help , then a bit more power to hold the front end up will help even more That thing sounds wicked , I hope to get to see it run someday. Keep up the good work!! Mike:cool:

The nitrous system is presently giving me some fits. I'm doing a complete O/H of the system.
 
glad to see your hard work starting to pay off. I would say keep it up but thats already a given for you.
 
Latest update

I was playing around, trying to find a max boost level for the launch. Seeing what the tires can take.
Closest I can figure, the MAP was at 260-277 kPa at the launch in this video.

Judging by the datalogs, surprisingly, there is a lot more in the tuneup. Whether the chassis can handle it or not is the big question.
Time to add the second fuel pump and freshen the motor.
 
Great job Donnie!! Looks like when you get your boost creep thing figured out that should help the car be more predictable on the launch. Hard for me to see exactly but the wheelie bars look like they need to be moved up a bit to give the front end a bit more of its head and keep the weight transfered on the rear tires. Otherwise GREAT JOB!!! Mike:cool:
