Fastest Pump Gas / Alky Car...?

Thanks Jim
Tim is one of my buds, I was bummed for him about the pedestal. He usually has his car easily in the 10s. His daughter did well in their t-type though.

The first runs on Fri. where great, but Fri.nite, motor went away ,think I hurt a bearing.

Will keep you guy's posted.

thanks JD

I haven't done any research on the TAI class or anything, but i saw the list of peeps that are going fast on 93 and alky. I have the up most admiration for these cats. I am from MS GulfCoast. I have a 109 built by Dave Hartman, it has GN1 heads and stock stoke. I recently went 10.06@139.3 on 25 psi with 1.72 60'. How does stack up with you guys. Am I on the right track? I run the new journal bearing Precision 71HPQ. I would like to know if i am doing good with what I have or not? What boost limitations are you up against?

Thanks

139.3! That's flyen.

I did not do much Racing this year. I had mostly Transmission and Converter issues. Just to think that my 10.22 @ 136 was with a 14.27% Converter slippage. Got it all going but the end of the Season got to me first.
We will see what the "Spring will Bring"...

P.S. I am falling down the list too fast..............

Uh, my car runs 139.3 mph, is that good? Come on man!

There are a couple of us TAI racers from the NOLA area.

List up some details on the ride. Like cam, weight, AC yes/no, tires, what/who's alky kit, straight methanol or mix?, nozzles 1/2/3, transmission, time slip details like 330, 660, etc.

Good times.. with a good 60 foot that would put you on top.

Thanks for participating,

last trip to the track was a failure only getting 10.01 at 137 and change again even after some new stuff...swapping some race ported gn1's on over this winter and playing with the convertor a little bit more...cant wait till spring!! nice times gndriven with a 60' and a tad more boost we will all be chasing you, lol

NO Razor Thank You,

I do not have my time slip in in front of me, so i can't recall the 1/8th time. I will post the pass in video when I return from this business trip. May be 2 weeks.

Car = 87 Astro Roof GN, weight is 3500 with me, TRZ anti-roll, No cage,
love to drive all over town on the weekend, NO AC but had to keep the heater. Frame notch 325/50 MTs (don’t laugh why I can’t get it to hook on boost)

Motor= 109, 30over JE pistons, CAT crank prepped by DLS, K-1 rods, RJC girdle,
GN1 heads, 70mm throttle and plenum, cam is Mike L's (fullthrottlespeed) 215/220 roller, 83 precision inj, Precision 71HPQ turbo, Precision front mount,

Trans = TH400, MRVB, Tbreak, PTC conv, stock gear,

Alky Control dual nozzles. FAST Classic EMS

I built this car from Nov 2008 until Present. In my two car garage over the winter with coffee and a space heater. Yes 40 F is cold. Started going to track some. I had to learn how to drive this car all over again for it was down a few years. I learned right quick that traction was not going to come easy, so I started focusing on getting clean passes with 24lbs of boost (TUNING). With bad 60' time the car started flying. At 10.52@134 I went ahead and put on the second nozzle. I was doing two passes per track visit.
every two weeks appox. Then I went 10.33@136 one trip on the first pass and stopped good enough for me. Then a week later came back and I went straight to the staging lanes. Turned boost up 1 psi, First pass 10.06@139.3. done good enough for me for now.
My MAP sensor says 266kPa which is 23.88psig but Autometer gauge reads 25psi. Anyway, yea 60' was soft, did not want to waste the pass. The kicker is the 1-2 shift was at 5820, 2-3 at 6008 rpm. Man not trying to toot, but I think if everything stays put, I might get a nine second time slip. However, I am street racer, so will never try to get 60' below 1.5.
I have waiting to install double-adj AFCO rear shocks, TRZ front tubulars, and a shift light (i just can't look at my tach the whole pass)

Anyways, this is a lot of fun for me. I am just wondering what is the opinion for max boost level. Alky is currently on level 5.
Thanks,

Failure!! your crazy...that is getting it done..
list what the new stuff is....
Are you going taking off GN1s or putting ON GN1s?

putting a set on and taking off my ported irons..the different mods i did from the 9.91 pass was the convertor and 50lbs tkaing out of car but thats all being taken care off ill have it all back together soon but winter is here so ill just have to wait. im in the same boat as you the car is mainly for 95% street racing but every now and then i like to go to the track to keep up on the times, lol.
