bad gas

my car has bad gas in it from sitting is it ok to drive it?

Do you have a knock gauge or audible detecor?

If you are not getting any knock then it should be fine to drive.

I put in some bad gas and had knock all over the place.

I ended up pumping it out and putting in 100 and then all was well. Even when you run the tank dry there is supposedly one gallon left in there.

If you need to get it out of the tank there are ways to trigger the pump from under the hood and drain the fuel from the fuel line.

FWIW & IMHO:
There are several brands of octane restorer/gas restorer on the market. Even Wally World carries some. I would buy & put some in the tank rather than worry about it.

yeah, drop a gallon or two of xylene or some methanol in there, especially the methyl if you've got watered gas.

Best to pump out as much as you can and get rid of it, add AR LEAST a half tank of fresh to dilute the gallon of goo that will remain in the bottom of your tank...
