For 12s not to super much really... for most part can go this route. Just using some links for things and some comments.
Some things maybe a bit over kill but nothing is super hard to deal with. This is pretty much setup a few of my buds have basically
ran to get into the 12s.. some with a little more.. some with a little less. Some items I have there
more for the purpose of adding a bit of reliability due to the age of the parts.

http://shop.zzperformance.com/store/p/104-Intercooler.aspx <--- don't bother with short stack, it sucks. Get the intake manifold option to keep PCV working.

http://shop.zzperformance.com/store/p/175-Rollmaster-Timing-Set.aspx <-- double roller, not single. As single chains snap eventually. Required? no.. but if got some $ to spare and time.

http://shop.zzperformance.com/store/p/90-Modular-Pulley-System.aspx <--- get some pullys with it.. 3.4" to start with.. work way down to like a 2.8-2.9" if on e85.
http://shop.zzperformance.com/store/p/112-42-5-Lucas-Injectors-6.aspx <--- if on 93 - replace old worn injectors

http://www.racetronix.biz/itemdesc.asp?ic=FPWH-015&eq=&Tp= <-- easy rewire kit
http://www.racetronix.biz/itemdesc.asp?ic=FPA-007A&eq=&Tp= <-- goes along with above. Replace the tired old pump with a good one that also keeps the Venturi pump.
For the trans.. thats another beast.. it could last you awhile.. Could blow first run.
Yer gonna have some major torque off the line. So most likely just have to use s0mething like Hoosier QTP that can fit on the stock 16x6 rims. Going to want something like
1.9x 60 foots. Otherwise just gonna be spinning.
