Turbo Buicks at Old Town 2013

Started the GN for the first time in well over a year today. Cranked for maybe 4 seconds and fired right up, settled into idle like I drove it yesterday. I was pretty concerned about that. Still have to put the bumpers back on and wet sand/buff out the deck lid and hood, tags expired 5 years...

    Redoing Factory Gravel Guard

I would put the factory chip guard back on. They did not do finish body work in those areas because they were gonna cover it, so those areas are pretty rough. It'll take two cans.

    Curt's White pearl project

Good info guys, very much appreciated. I'll see if I can get this POS better adjusted then. I only have a couple things to shoot. Fillers, bumpers and some trim parts.

    Curt's White pearl project

It looks really good. what spray gun? Tip size? and psi you using please. I'm not seeing much orange peel at all. My gun is Devilbiss finishline FLG3 with a 1.3, 1.5, 1.8 and 2.2 mm tips and I shoot at 10-11 psi at the gun. I get real smooth coverage on the basecoat using the 1.3 mm tip. I'm...

    Gun Control Funnies

The last one is really good. If that's a true statistic, it's pretty amazing. The problem with liberals in general is that they must have been all dropped on thier heads when babies, in the birth canal too long...something. I don't understand where that type of logic comes from. My wife is...

    Good Gun For Home Protection?

This kinda went off in a few different directions. For ultimate home protection nothing beats a shotgun. It's not possible to accidently shoot yourself with it. Imagine your wife, alone...under the stress of an intruder in her home, with little to no experience with weapons of any kind. Should...

    Gun Owners Need to Act

The chimp....shame on you. I been saying "Curious George" for about 3 years now. Ya, Joe Biden (the village idiot) heading up this new committee. This could get real interesting. These libs better be careful, they don't want to screw up and trigger a civil war. Think about it, I'm not really...

    Time to share my restoration.......

Nice looking car, I know you have a lot of work in it. Really like those seats! Time to drive and enjoy it now!

    Front Fender adjustment

So you're trying to open or close the gap between the hood and front fenders? Are you trying to adjust the front or rear?

    Hood Trim Removal Procedure

You can see it while driving, that sucks. Here is the part off the car. Notice it has a weird shape and just clamps on. Pretty tight though. Here is the paint I'm using on all my trim. You can also see how fragile the leading edge is to denting, bending etc...means you don't want to hit it very...

    Hood Trim Removal Procedure

SEM trim black paint (39144), reduced 100% with a quality lacquer thinner will give you the correct color. SEM trim black is also available in spray can at an automotive refinishing store if you only have one or two items to paint. I removed that trim with a small block of wood 1" x 3". Lay a...

    Aluminum Grand National Rims

Sorry I didn't post right away, I was out working Isaac damage in Mississippi, then soon thereafter working Sandy damage in New Jersey. I received the aluminum wheels while I was gone. Brian really outdid himself on this one, these wheels are awesome. I have them hanging on the car, but haven't...

    Door Glass Hits Blowout Clip

I agree with what Turbofrank suggested. But yes, in the mean time you can tilt the window inward. The glass should obviously end up in the center of the weatherstripping channel, behind the blowout clip. Can help with the procedure if need be. Howard

You probably right, all the g-bodies should be the same in that location.

Update to T-top rot...fixed with an awesome gbodypart.com piece....

"Wow" is all I can say about that! Gonna see if Brian has something for the MCSS, my nephew has an '87 Aerocoupe with similiar issues (I gave his dad the car 11 years ago).

Update to T-top rot...fixed with an awesome gbodypart.com piece....

That's quite a repair. Thankfully Brian had the piece available so the body shop didn't have to fab one. They did a really nice job with the install.

Body side mouldings (rub strips) measurement

This is what I ended up with. 1/2" to the rear, 5/8" to the front and centered the door strip. I don't have the edge guards back on yet. Still a long way to go. Some tires on Brian's (GBodyparts) wheels would be a nice start. I still have all the lower trim items to do, take the handles back off...

Spoolfool's front bumper filler inst vid.

Very good video Mike, I thought it was just me fightin' with those bezels all the time, I've got split vacuum hose glued here and there getting mine to look decent. Your fix is much more adjustable. I'll be using that trick for sure. Thanks.

Body side mouldings (rub strips) measurement

Okay greybuick...It helps to put the correct words into the search query. Thanks very much for the help. After reading all the posts there I've come to realize that most or all are different. Depends on what shift was on when the car was built it seems. Height measurements seem to be fairly...

Take it to the primer or bare metal

Excellent recommendations from onefastgn. IMO by the time you DA with 80 grit down to primer, you're gonna have quite a bit of metal showing anyway. once you get to that point, I switch over to 180 grit paper to finish removing the rest of the primer. Try to time it so that you can get the car...
