What Tires and size are the best looking and fit for GN's and TR?

1) Are you looking for a true radial, drag radial, or DOT slick?

2) What size wheels do you have/plan to purchase?

-Banning.

Looking for regular tires, the rims are factory 87 GN rims.
The current dry rotted tires are Michelin (225-60-15)
Trying to get a better appearence though, if possible?
Maybe like a lower profile, for example: 245 60 15 or maybe
225 50 15 or something like that. What can i fit and what cant
I fit, and will it effect the Ride? Thanks

My front are 225 50 15 and are too small.

The back are 275 50 15 DRs on stock rims.

All the tires are Nittos.

Rear tires/rims are on my website.

As Dan said, 225/50's are too small. 225/50's will also wear out pretty quick on a TR. They just aren't enough tire to get a TR to turn and the outside edges of the tire will pay for it. 50 series tires aren't designed to roll over onto their sidewalls like 60 or 65 series tires. A 205/65 tires would last twice as long as a 225/50.

People have had pretty good success with 235/60's all around or 235/60's in front and 255/60's in back. T/R's like a taller tire in back. With a big tire in back, you don't want too small a tire up front or the car will understeer worse than stock. If you want the car to handle well put the largest front tire up front you can live with. 235/60's may rub slightly in some applications (sagging stock springs). My T has stiffer aftermarket lowering springs in front and I could run 245/60's in front with minimal rubbing (on T wheels). Handling was very good. Some people can only fit 225/60's up front without fenderwell rubbing. If rubbing bothers you and/or you don't want to massage the inner fenders, 225/60's maybe the biggest tire that will fit.

I am partial to 215/65/15s up front and 275/60/15s in the rear on my stock T rims. I'd consider 205/65/15s too. Try to mantain 25"-26"s of total diameter up front when running 15" rims. And NEVER go lower than 26" in the back!

The 16s on my T are 225/50/16s up front and are 24.7" tall B/N... but my car is low and is set up to handle unlike most TRs. 255/50/16s out back.

235/60/15 dunlop gt qualifier's on weld 's up front
255/50/15 dunlop gt qualifier's on weld's in the rear
not sure of width or offset but the rears are awefully close to the frame.I cannot get my hand between the tire and frame. It handle great though. The other day I was cooking down a country road and I smelled a burning rubber smell,It got stronger and stronger so I thought the rears must be rubbing the frame and I was getting ready to blow out.I checked them a few times and then said screw it and hauled a@@ up to the next gas station ,then I saw it,the mosquito man blowing smoke everywhere...I had been smelling him the whole time.Whoooo what a relief!!!

check out my site...i have the famous GNX rims with 245/50/16's up front and bf goodrich 265/50/16's in the back:cool:

i am going with 225's or 215's soon up front to give me that dragster stance:D
