Art Carr Tech Session Sept 10, 2005

:) Dear , Interested Buick Turbo People

Subject: Art Carr Tech Session

Dear Club Members & potential Club Members,

Please mark your calendars for a special tech session at Art Carr’s business, “California Performance Transmission” which will be held on Saturday, September 10th, 2005. We will be meeting at 11:30 a.m. and the session will start approximately about 12:00 p.m. Art will share updates about his business as well as any new products and features for our 2004R Transmissions. Also Art usually offers a Q & A time for your personal information. The BGNRA is also inviting the Southern California Chapter of the GSCA Buick Club!

A delicious lunch will be provided during a break in the Session. Then we will resume with practical hands on demonstration of one of our Buicks on a lift for all to evaluate.

So Come One and Come All as Art Carr is the original innovator of heavy duty internal transmission parts for our 2004R and has built some of the transmissions for turbo cars in the nation. Please confirm your RSVP with Art so he knows how many to plan the lunch, and please Feel free to visit our website at www.BGNRA.org for more details and register.

Thank Again, Steve Hurst, President-BGNRA

scott---that truck you have is bad a$$. you have done a very nice job putting it together. but its not really fair to the guys that set their car's up just for tsm. your truck is much lighter and from what i here . is going to have a monster motor in it this year. also from talking to people i think there will be a class you can run in. i hope this wont hurt your feeling or deter you from participating. we appreciate your effort.

is alright - I'll just run the bracket class. Monster motor? Nope, same old 80,000mi stocker as last year. Maybe even a little slower! I wanna spend some time picking on the Supras anyway ;) See you guys there.

that little yellow truck caused me allot of trouble ;) It is the very reason we do not have an official TSM series race this year at the west coast nats. Although i don't mind bending the rules a little to increase participation out west here the truck is going a little too far. I called Jon Wittington today along with a bunch of other racers. We were trying to figure out how we could include you and everyone in the class and still make it fair.

one way is to have two classes. a TSM class and a stock block outlaw class (SBO) anything that has a stock block would be legal in SBO. TSM legal cars could race in both class if they liked.

Second is, no one really cares about the shape of the car, be it a car or truck or TA or whatever, what makes the difference is the turbo and the weight. most of the guys would be inclined to allow one big class (SBO) if these two things were relatively equal among the field.

I'm 50/50 on bringing my TSM car (dam fuel prices  ), makes no difference to me...TSM or SBO, Think there would be enough cars to run both?......

I'm in favor of whatever. But, with only 3 cars registered for TSM, it would be tough to get enough cars to make two brackets.

im all in favor of small block outlaw...........i mean sbo.........we need to get a american vs imports class for bragging rights.....can anyone make this happen? .....heads up .4 pro tree supras vs us ......id donate a ben franklin for this

pro tree

I would love to run a pro tree against the supras. They would have no chance!.............until the 1/8th mile ;) Maybe I can convince them I have a Tacoma V6 :D

Definite thumbs up to running the Supras. I'm pretty sure the bad ass street driven 8 second local Supra is down right now.

What time is everybody going to the track Sat?. Reason that I am asking is that the LVMS schedule does not show what time the cars can get in and get ready for tech. It shows 6:00 PM for both nights: Friday for test & tune: 6:00 PM, and Sat: 6:00 PM for racing with the Supras. It also shows 9:00 AM is scheduled for the "Rockabily Rod Reunion". Direct quote from one of the more popular Ca Buick turbo clubs:
-----------------------------
Fri: 14th Oct, 2005: Gates Open 4:00 PM., Tech: 5:00 PM, Test N' Tune: 6:00 PM-10:00 PM, & Midnight Mayhem Street Legal Drags: 10:00 Pm to 2:00 AM. Ok, that all agrees with the LVMS schedule posted on their site.
But:
Sat: 15th OCt., 2005: Gates Open: 7:00 AM, Time Trials/Qualifying: 9 AM-2:15 PM, & eliminations: 2:30-4:30 PM.
This info is from Chris Blair: Director of Drag Racing-Track Phone: (702) 632-8226.
It would definitely help in my making a decision about going if I know that I could go out in the morning and afternoon and at least look at the Buicks & talk to the owners, as not being able to go out till 6:00 PM.
Hanging around the casino all day waiting for the track to open Sat. leads to.........???
Well, never mind what it leads to...........

Wells...

Don't forget $1 hotdogs and beer at the track buddy! Had my fill after winning last year! ;)
