ok here a couple of months ago i had my motor rebuilt.and it started to smoke when the car is started.i was thinking that it had to do something with the turbo,i find out friday that when my heads were being gone thru there was no valve stem seals on the exhaust side so he did not put any on there.now is this common or do i need to put these seals on and my motor might no smoke at start up..............thanks again for any help

Some guys don't believe in seals on the exhaust side. It supposedly aides in keeping the guides lubed, at the cost of a bit of smoke at startup.

If you are running a booster plate or high volume oil pump is flows excess oil into the upper cylinder heads and leaks into valve guides
