Hello,
My '86 T-Type tranny had a leak, I think at the rear seal, and I did not have time to fix it. So.... I filled it before I left for different trips, and it usually did not run too low. But, after one long local trip, the tranny started making a grinding/whining noise, and I think the leak got worse, and fluid leaked too low, and it caused a problem. What do you think happened? I have a spare torque converter, and a spare built tranny that I have not yet run but is supposed to be built. Do I just replace the converter, or is the problem with fried bands? The converter that may have run low is a Vigilante single-disc lock-up 3000 stall. Tranny was stock. Thanks. John.
