MISSING 2 CYLINDERS???
Joined
May 23, 2002
I picked up my crank, block, rods & pistons for the machince shop about two wks ago and noticed last night that I'm starting to get a little rust. None of it showing up on the machine areas yet but I want to get a jump on them to make sure it doesn't.

*Would I be better off to go ahead and assemble or leave unassembled?
* If I'd be better off unassembled, what would be something good to coat with?

Dave, Does it clean up pretty easy? I thought about assembly but it still will be summer or later before I install, what do you think?

What turbodave says is great or search around for Cosmoline. make sure to coat all the machined ares very good

You're supposed to wash everything down prior to assembly anyway.

I'm not a fan of washing things down with soap and water. I normally go to Home Depot and pick up a few gallons of laquer thinner and a spray bottle.

put the motor together- the assembly lube will protect it until you fire it up, and it will take up less space.
