I have seen on this and other boards that constantly changing the rules of any racing class is a sure fire way to kill the class. I find it funny that a year ago all the THS guys were screaming bloody murder that this WOULD NOT be a nine second class. There were a few guys who just said ok, wait and watch, we will be in the nines by the end of the year. Guess what, they are.
You can come up with whatever set of changes you want and guess what, somebody is going to have more money, more help, more know how, and get it done again. Somebody is always going to be at an advantage no matter what rule changes you put in place. You don't like it, go back to street racing and get out of heads up point series racing.
IMHO, changing the rules all the time is what will kill the car count. You guys set up the rules, and I must remind you that according to all of you then with all of your years of experience racing different classes and knowing our cars like the back of your hands this was not going to be a nine sec class, you determined the venues, you established the entire system and now that somebody has come along and blown your plans to hell you want to change the rules. Just doesn't seem like good form at all. How about this....STEP UP and play by the rules you made. If you can't get it done, just say hey man I can't get it done. There is always bracket/index racing.
BTW, I should also remind you that while I have not raced ths and do not plan to, I was one of the first and largest supporters of the class. I thought it was a good thing then, and still do, just leave the rules alone.
