Long time member here who hasn't posted in a while. I've spent considerable time in the archives searching but can't find exactly what I need. Went to drive my car a couple of weeks ago and had about 5 gallons and went to get more fuel- station's premium pumps were down as well as mid grade so I pumped 7 gal of 87 octane unleaded. Long story short, I got on it (running 24 lbs boost with alky) and it went pop! It immediately felt like it went into batch mode for fueling as like it had dropped a cylinder. I coasted into a parking lot and had the car towed to my house. I checked hoses at FP, turbo, MAP, and IC and all were/ are intact. Oil appears and smells gassy. Antifreeze in rad down a bit. Anything else I can check before ruling it is a blown head gasket? Should it be a blown HG, can anyone direct me to a blog or good thread with a step by step tutorial should I decide to take this on myself? I may also pay for the repair but I'm not in the know of good, trusted, specialists within or near GA that know these cars. Thanks for any and all input guys...

Expensive lesson. Compression check, spark plugs, leakdown and scantool will tell what you need to know. Good luck.

You could maybe try finding a reputable mechanic or a helping hand closer to home looking in the south eastern regional forum. Good luck and keep us informed

Time to update this thread. Today, I feel like it is my birthday, Christmas, and a lottery winner! I found the issue and is was a simple fix- blew the MAF hose off at Turbo compressor. It was hard to see but I found it after checking all hoses and frank sensor. Car sat for almost 8 months. Time now to clean it up and drive!!!! Thank you Jesus!

Must be a LC2/Y56 thing.
