My progress thread...

sorry about that

you sure we can't just find you a new body damm I scaped an 81 turbo coupe and an 85 ttype before I found TB.com did.n't have a place to store or a way at the time to move them home to utah would have give them away hated junking them especially since now I could use or sell off all those arizona parts both were rust free bodys mostly just sun faded

my car set for ten years and had less damage I forgot something earlier my interior: seats, door panels.back panels. headliner, carpet, sunvisors were all recovered with original material for $700 total so I'am probly at 1000 to 1200 into this.
I forgot about that stuff its in my extra bedroom all wrapped up in stretch wrap I keep an eye out on my nexted trip doors are like $60.00 complete

you bought those rusted out doors please say shipping only glass company out here is 112.00 for new windshield

passed on a gn type wheel 2weeks ago at junkyard in salt lake city 20 bucks

I 'll try to keep an eye out on my next trip will let you know maybe we can find you some good stuff
almost went this weekend my other half was raggin on me to goto phx or la junkin it was 50% off

I got the doors for 100. It's hard to find good doors around here. I only have a few rust holes left to patch. Shipping on large stuff would be crazy stupid. The doors just need to have some blasting done. THe rust is all solid except that tiny bit in the corner. For what I paid they are nice doors really. I never bought this cars with intentions of making it a show car, just a nice driver. Yeah I did go through the trouble of stripping it down to bare frame but it was something that needed to be done. I guess I'm saving 1 of 1547. Too bad I didn't have the money to have a few things done a bit better but that's just the way it goes

THe passenger side seems to have no issues. Notice on the driver's door the quarter to fender gap is damn close also. I think the issue with the driver's fender is that it isn't centered on the inner frame correctly and I need to loosen the bolts in the jamb area and push the fender and inner fender together more. THat's the only thing I can come up with. It's very close but it isn't good enough when I see how well the passenger side is lined up. Does anyone know what the gap is supposed to be from fender to door? I was thinking 3/16 just like the quarter and door gap:confused:

Looking really nice Jesse! Your really going to be a happy guy once that baby is painted! Then you'll have even more work reassembling. But it's always a good feeling reassembling a new nicely painted car!

I know it's been a while but it's finally painted. I have older pics that I need to post yet. It's beena long bumpy road to say the least. Of course Forest ran into problems. While spraying base the air hose connections started leaking. Finished the coat and fixed the connections. Then right before the last coat of clear one of the fans crapped out. Needless to say 1 fan couldn't keep up and it got foggy as sh!t. He's worried there might be a run in the clear. If that's all there is I won't complain one bit for all the other things that could have went wrong. I had to dart in the garage to kill a light that got left on and it looked like everything had settled. Got a small glimpse of the driver fender and it looked like glass. Doesn't say much since I'm damn near blind LOL! He couldn't spray the header panel since there was a hidden crack that just showed up. We are going to fix it wednesday and spray it thursday when we know the car is dry so we can do some rearranging of the plastic. The guy has to be his worst critic of his work. I definitely owe him some free wrench time.

Holy S#*T!!!!!!!!!!! You DO actually have a car???? Not sure I believe it just yet, but its getting easier...I'm REALLY hoping you had ALOT more lighting in that garage when you sprayed it...Lookin good brotha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had to shut the lights off just to get these half ass pics. The lights were glaring off the car so bad all I could see was a white flash.

Forest stopped over to check it out last night. He's not to worried about the bugs and said the runs should come out for the most part. I did notice some small imperfections that we missed while sanding but nothing anyone will notice. For 2500 total, I can't bitch

In a couple of months you should be able to buff her out and then it will look really nice.
