mat sensor or resistor

Ok i'm changing over to the 87 ecm and i'm to the point where i need to decide whether i want to run a mat sensor or a resistor in its place ... any one have any opinions about either and if the resistor is the better way to go how do i do it??

Run the sensor, at high and low air temps the correction gets large and to risk blowning headgaskets over a $20 part, doesn't make sense, well to me anyway.
 
I heard that the IAT will plays a small part in the fuel trim when its hot or cold. I got a used harness out of a fwd with the sensor and it was real easy to plug the pins right into the ecm connector. You can't go wrong not doing it. It just makes for more accuratcy.
