Knock Count on DS

On DS my knock count was 216 at the the start of the run and at the end it was 217.
On the run before this one it started at 0 then at the end of the run it was 3.
Does anyone know why this would happen?

the knock counts aren't what you need to be concerned with. It's the knock retard during the run.

The knock counts are just a counter that keeps track of filtered counts that it sees.
Sometimes the mere act of cranking the starter can rack up some big knock counts.
