I have consistently used Amsoil- first 10w-40 and then i read last year that the V6 turbo requires 10w-30 so i changed to 10w-30.
Now i just read that Amsoil stated that its 10w-40 has more zinc and phosphrous so in the spring i will be changaing back to amsoil 10w-40.
For winter storage and occasional start ups, i dont want to leave $9+ quart Amsoil sitting so i bought some conventional 10w-40 penzoil and a 4 ounce bottle of ZDDP.
Is the 10w-40 ok or should i use 10w-30 for winter storage plus occasional drive?
In the spring i will be using 10w-40.
Does the 30 grade make that much of a difference over the 40 in the v6 turbo?
PS: the car is pretty much a garage queen that is only driven a few times a year.
Thanks
Frank
