Internally or externally balanced crankshaft ?

I am rebuilding my engine and I believe I need to purchase the externally balanced crankshaft.

I have attached a picture of my flywheel and harmonic balancer.

The harmonic balancer looks to have a weight attached to one side.

I assume this means the rotating assembly is externally balanced?

Thoughts?

Thank you so much in advance.

Yup
If you went aftermarket internal then the balancer would not be counter weighted

Would this be a good time to upgrade to an internal balance crank?

I realize that it may cost more, but is there enough benefit to be worthy of the expense.

I am debating whether it would be worth the extra cost at this point.

I believe the internally balanced crank was about $120 more than the externally balanced crank. These were cranks that I priced online from this forum's vendors.

What kinds of benefits would the internally balanced crank give me?

The motor currently has the stock crank, which obviously is externally balanced.

From pure cost perspective:
The flywheel and ring gear are not cheap so, it's a bit more than $120 in the end.

Don't really know if there is a real benefit at power levels that will crack a 109.
