I'am about to swap to a 86/87ecm and I was wondering where to place the IAT. I also have my K@N mounted in front of my radiator. Should it be close to the MAF or air filter.

Well in this application the factory put it near the MAF sensor. There might be some who wish to argue about that though ;-)

If your going from hotair ECM to a 86/87 have your chip burner leak the air temp stuff out and don't run one. i've done a couple this way. saves a headache.
