i'm experiencing high rpms@cruising,not sure if this is normal for my setup.rpm's are in th 4600-5000 range @ about 60-70 mph.the car has a manual valvebody, and shifting through the gears seem all crisp, but on the 2-3 shift i do feel it grab, but looking at the tach(stock)there is a barely noticeable rpm drop.the car has a th400;a/c 9"3500 stall(non-lockup);3.42 rear;and minispool.any advice would greatly be appreciated.

My 2 cents

Yeah, I'm a new-be, but only to the world of Turbo Buicks. I had a 70 Z-28, built LT-1, Turbo 400, 3500 stall, and 3.73's. My 60 mph cruise as I recall was around 3800-4100. Are you sure you've got 3.42's and if so are you sure it's a 3500 stall? If everything seems to match up I'd look toward a switch pitch converter from Poston or Kenne Bell. You can get a 1400/3500 stall from them, that sure won't hurt. - BB
