evap canister question

I bought a GN it has no evap canister and the fuel line has nothing on it. Can someone tell what effect does this have on the vehicle.

The affects on the vehicle will be higher evaporative emissions and a very slightly lower fuel mileage. You can't plug the line as it is the tank vent. Many folks place a small filter such as a fuel filter on the end of the line. This is to keep bugs & debris and such out of the line.

I suggest you vent near the tank - same as was done before EPA. I wouldn't want to vent iunder the hood - too much chance of lighting the vapors ( an earlier post said he burned the car & his garage).

I put my canister back by the tank - only needed to run a wire to it for it to operate properly.

Mines gone and I did the filter trick. Cleaned up the engine bay and I saw no difference.
