I had my inspection today. Here in NH there are no emisions testing. I pulled in and there was this gun ho! technician all over my car. He noticed that I have a high flow converter. He said to me" You have no hose going from the converter to the air pump". I said " what hose, what air pump?"
The owner rolled his eyes & told him to give me a sticker anyways that I have been going there for 4 years.

I have owned my 87 GN for 4 years and have never been asked or did I know about such an air pump! When I bought the car there was no catalytic converter on. I told him this and he said it was probably taken out when the catalytic converter was removed.
Is there suppose to be an air pump for emissions? Looking at other GN motors I dont recall ever seeing one.

I thought that was the case. There is a Pipe nipple sticking out the side of the HIgh flow cat that is capped off. I assume its a generic port for if you had an air pump?
