bad converter

what are the symptoms of a bad converter. think my trans is bad but want to be sure its not the converter. car drives in all gears but when gas pedal is nailed engine rpms go up but car does not pickup speed. 2800 stall lu converter with about 2000 miles on it.

a damaged roller clutch or bent fins can cause this type of complaint.it is not very common.it would be wise to go to a trans shop that gives free road tests and get there recommendation so you dont spend money for nothing.

Just took my 87 out doing the same thing, shifts trough all gears then just revs and hardly moves when you jump on it.

bad converter ?

going to put the stock converter back in and see what happens. ol girl ran good with it just not enough stall for the cpt 61. will post results when i get off my butt going.
