anyone use tire softner?

Got some nice firestone tires for nothing. The treadwear rating is 320. But they have been sitting around to long and the squeal terriably. Is there anything I can do to quiet them down?

Never used tire softener on radials or street tires for that matter. I doubt it'll do anything though since a street tire is made not to absorb anything.... Hard telling.

Works great on oval track tires.

I've heard of using bleach to soften the tires but just don't use it all the time. I use it once to get me out of the snow and it worked. I don't know if it was coincedence or not. Never tried it on dry pavement.
