82 hot air tranny?

Hi turbo world my friend just purchased an 82 hot air motor for cheap money and wants to do a cool project. Only thing is it didnt come with a tranny so my question is what type of transmisions can he hook up to that motor thanks for any input

Any GM rear wheel drive Trans from the era will go in. Anything overdrive and guaranteed will not be cheap

Stock was a turbo 350 with lock up, but like bison said, just about any RWD GM tranny can be used. You would be better with an overdrive 2004r tranny so you can get the better choices of gears though.

Thanks charlief1 i was thinking about going with the 2004r just wasnt 100 percent on if it would work

Whatever you use, make sure it has a BOP bolt pattern. (Most 200-4r are BOP or dual)
