More than likely a problem with forward clutch since it is applied through 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. It goes off for 4th gear and band is re applied. The coast clutch is only used for engine braking. HTH

I am changing my valve springs as well. I am using the comp cams 980-12 valve springs alot of guys on here are also running these they are drop in replacements. You can also use LT1 valve springs. You can use compressed air in the spark plug hole to swap out springs or do a search on here...

valve body's with the tcc bore plug are for ecm controlled vehicles. v.b's with valve train are for non ecm vehicles. HTH

The bushing in the cone supports the final drive so if it doesnt feel lose on the carier its ok. Check the amount of play on axle in carier at the smooth area with the oil grooves just behind the splines. That is the part of the axle that spins in the carrier and commonly wears carrier on high...

yes they are 105lb spring. Was going to use them if they will work. Looking at specs of 980 and 981 springs they are only a few thousandths diff dia and height but bout 10lbs more spring press.
