...try this. Grab and extra piece of 10 gauge wire and connect it as you need it and throw it on the outside of the car. Does this wire still get hot? Let us know

best way is a stand-alone fan controller independant of the factory wiring etc... using a 3/8 NPT thermo switch as opposed to a probe is the best way

well if your not comfortable tapping a hole in the pan Autometer does sell a "manifold" that you insert on the steel line. It has a threaded port to add the trans temp sensor

if the other suggestion does not work try this. Cut the purple wire at the key switch and leave enough to add on new wire. The run a new length of 10 gauge to replace the factory purple wire.
