I was going to order stuff to finish up my top end rebuild.

Whats the best additive to break in an Edelbrock 204/214 Cam? The bottom end was built 6K miles ago. Developed a tick which ended up being a bent push rod. Had a very mildly wiped lobe on #1 intake. Its got rebuilt heads and LT1 stock replacement springs.

Ive done some reading and it seems a bottle of ZDDP and another oil change in 500 miles after cam break in is what everyone suggests.

Is the comp break in oil just as good? Kinda dont want to set up another account at a place just get 2 bottles of ZDDP. If I can get it through summit it would be sorta nice.

I use the Comp Cams additive. Put it in at every oil change. Maybe it's not necessary, but so far it's kept my cam & lifters happy.

nothing wrong with comps additive. i used that up untill novemeber when i ran out, i have now switched to zddp. use comps if thats what you have access to.
