Is there a new XIM flash by chance?
Also how do you flash an XIM. i know there is a plug on the harness for the data connection to your laptop, but there is no software around as far as i know.

Thanks guys,

Adrian

Hi Adrian!!

There is a special Flash 21B for those using my Buick CNP setup. You can use the XIM Flash Utility, but I prefer to Flash the XIM through the XFI Program. To do this:

1. Groung the Blue Flash Enable wire on the XIM
2. Power up the XIM and verify the Crank light is flashing
3. Plug your laptop into the XIM com port with the XFI Program open (don't try to connect)
4. Go to File/Flash XFI ECU...
5. Change the "*.xfi" at the bottom to "*.xim"
6. Find the XIM Flash file on your laptop and select it and click "open"

It does a few things. The biggest was to adjust the dwell on cranking since the V6 has a long time between crank signals (120 degrees at 100-150 rpm). I flashed the XIM in your car while I was up there tuning it.

awesome thanks alot Cal for the nice explaination.

I downloaded XFI 2.010 recently, would that flash be within the XIM folder? Or would you have to email me the proper flash?

Thanks again,

Adrian

Cal, if you wouldn't mind emailing me that flash it would be awesome. I will also be flashing George's XIM box as well.

Thanks in advance.

Adrian
