WTB mild turbo

Hi folks, :)

New to the board here. The turbo just went on my stock 1986 T-type, owned since new. I am looking to replace it with a turbo that will handle slight mods I intend to do this winter. I will not be changing the convertor but will be doing a slightly larger downpipe, injectors and a fuel pump. It is my street car and I simply want a little extra oomph.

From what I've read and advice I've received already from kind folks on this board, I should be looking for a TA49, TE44 or T51.

If anyone has one for sale or can suggest another that would serve me well, please let me know. It has to be bolt-on and ready to run.

Thanks folks!

I've got a brand new TE-60 from Limit Engineering still in the shipping bag. This turbo has a Garrett exhaust housing and comes with a high boost actuator. $650.00 shipped to anywhere in the lower 48 states. I take PayPal with a 3.5% adder to the total to cover Paypal's bank transaction fee or a money order.

Thanks,

James West

Hi James,
Thanks for the post and the fair pricing. Sadly, that is way too much turbo for my application and it would take my combination days to spool that thing!
Thanks thus far folks!

Thanks to everyone that has been offering up turbos thus far. Shame but all of you have pretty much offered up turbos that would take my combination days to spool up!!

I'm looking to stay on the conservative side, so I'm looking for a TE34, TE44 or TA49.

Anything larger is pretty much too large!!

I have a TA49 that has the Garrett .63 on it. $550+ ship. I just pulled it off a car im converting back to stock.. You need the Garrett housing if you have the stock converter or it will spool like a turd. Fyi the TE60 that you werent inerested in that has the Garrett .63 will spool faster than a 44/49 with a Precision .63 ex.

Being that this is the first time I'm deviating from completely stock with my car, I'm unsure how a boost controller works. I will have to assume that it is somehow allowing for more flow volume to the exhaust side of the turbo sooner than the factory ECM will allow for.

I guess what I've been looking for is to just get a little rise above stock power levels with a minimal amount of work. I've already secured 36# injectors and chip, a Walbro fuel pump, a cam kit from Comp Cams and a 2 1/2" downpipe. I'm just at the trubo stage now and from what I've read, an adjustable fuel regulator remains.

Everything I've read and researched suggests that the TE34, 44 or TA49 will provide for what I'm readying with a minimal amount of extra work.

te-44 possible sale

I have a te-44, I will probably sell or rather trade for a larger turbo with 3'' intake and 2'1/2 outlet . Also have to get rid of my 2800 stall and upgrade to about a 3200-3400 stall.

I have a TA-49 with about 2000 miles on it if that. No smoke or shaft play. Good turbo. $ 450.00 plus shipping.

I am getting ready to remove a TA49 w/ .82 housing from my car, I never ran it over about 12 psi. It should work well for what you want. It does have a DP bolt broken off in it, but that can prob be removed w/ an easy-out (which I dont have)
I need $300 PM me if interested and I'll get pics for you. For an extra $25, I'll give you the chip I am running it w/ (Red Armstrong)
