Would shortening the wire harness screw anything up??

i have a spaghetti mess in my engine compartment and would like to remove about two FEET of extra harness that is just rolled up and looking very ugly.
Also while i am at it id like to remove any extra junk that is not being used and wire in some things that i can use.
id like to
1-Feed the MAP sensor 5 volts directly from the ECM instead of a jumper from the TPS.
2-can't remember right now.
3-the same as number 2

My main concern is that if i change the length of the harness will it change the value of the readings it gets from the sensors?

Also what would be the way to shorten it up?
Splice a few inches from the ECM plugs then solder each wire back together?
thanks guys.

shortening the wires won't effect the readings for the ecu. As far as where to put the splices I would say the best way to do it would be to get a weatherpack pin/plug kit and just cut the ends off of the wires that are too long and put a new plug on them. That way you don't have a splice in the harness to look at everytime there's an electrical gremlin.
