Anytime I turn my wipers on & try to turn them off they keep running - the only way to get them to stop is by shutting off the engine & starting it back up again. Why? Anyone know??

Most likely in the wiper/washer module attached to the front of the wiper motor.

Park switch operation.

Delay or non-delay wipers?

This is a common failure on GM systems with the delay feature. You may need to replace the control board on the wiper motor, this part includeds the washer pump, delay wiper control board and cover.

Front cover on the wiper motor as stated.

To get a clue you may want to pick up a copy of the factory service manual.

It can save you a lot of time and money with these cars. :)

You can sometimes fix the mechanical arm contacts or relay contacts on that bolt on circuit board when you get a clue and the manual.

It's about $50 at GM Parts discount supplier and is relatively easy to install.
