Why oh why do they fade?

The GN I recently purchased has been repainted years ago and still looks gorgous. It appears to have the original F/R urathane bumper fillers that are still in perfect cond., however, they seem to fade rather quickly even after I waxed them last week!! Any reason for this? Thanks

the only reason i can see is they added a flex addtive to the paint so it wont crack from the movement.
