I've been running the LS1 front set-up for three years, and the LS1 rears about 1-1/2 years, no problems at all.
I have heard the stock PM system with the LS1 brakes are even better than the vacuum system, but going from 125+ mph to a stop is great with the LS brakes/vacuum for me. Fairly easy swap with the supplied kit that 86TexasT has, and you can always go back to the stock brakes if needed. The LS brake parts are readily available over the counter to boot, big +.
As for 15" wheels fitting over the brakes, I beleive I have seen a few F-bodies running 15" runners on the front (draglites, prostars) for the track, so there has to be something that would work for "runners". Otherwise 16" and up wil be only options.
