Hi, I just finished installing my tv made ez kit from bowtie. Unfortunately they are closed at this late hour. Does anyone know what the correct hydraulic pressure values are for all gears either with tv cable disconnected and with it connected. I'm thinking my numbers are not right but I'm uncertain.

with cable disconnected

P: 110
R: 130-150
N: 110
D: 110
3: 110
2: 130-150
1: 110-140

I had the pan off for about 8 days and it was dripping fluid that entire time. Now after reinstalling the pan, I've put in about 7qts and it's still not coming up to even the add 1qt line. I'm guessing these numbers are simply fluctuating because I need another quart maybe?

I actually took out about half a quart, I assumed more fluid in the space, means higher than normal pressures. Now, with the cable disconnected, at idle, in park, it's reading 115, which seems way too high..do I need to take out more fluid? When I checked it, it was a tad under the full mark, about 3/4qtrs of the way in the hashed region.

thanks, ken

Cable disconnected at idle
p - 100-120 fluctuating
r - 95-100 fluctuating
n - 110-120 fluc.
d - 90-105 fluc
3 - 90-100
2 - 90-100
1 - 80-100

Cable connected at idle

p - 100-115 fluc
r - 90-100 fluc
n - 100-100 fluc.
d - 80-100 fluc.
3 - 80-100 fluc.
2 - 80-100 fluc.
1 - 75-90 fluc.

Why the comment about 115psi being too high? Is it starting in second gear?
Your numbers look like you are not pulling the TV cable as Chris718 instructed, or boost system is not working.

when i check the pressures in each gear, should i have someone else pull the cable entirely to depress the plunger? I've not been doing that, i've just been sitting in my car measuring off the gauge as i shift from gear to gear.

Stock 200-4R trans pressures and instructions from a 1987 service manual

I set mine up like a fuel pressure gauge and took it for a drive. Just used some copper tubing. Sorry do not have my numbers any more.

So i set idle to 1000rpm, then measured the pressure for each gear at maximum throttle cable. Here are the numbers.

R: 120-210
N: 100-150
D: 110-130
