What happens when a wastegate goes bad?
Does it set a code?
I noticed that my wastegate rod was not perpendicular to the
diaphragm, (instead of 90 degree angle it was at a 45) so I cleaned it up, and some rubber was sticking out of where the rod comes out of the diaphragm.
After cleaning I only get about 5lbs of boost at WOT.
It's still at about 45degree angle from the diaphragm, so something isn't lining up. (I have TA49 turbo if that makes a difference).
I know it's the wastegate, but shouldn't it set some code?
Thanks,
Ken
