washer under valve spring ?

I am replacing my valve spring with comp 980 spring. Iam not reusing the spring cups do I reuse the washer under the cups?

there was no washer under the cups.

With the 980's either reuse the cups and omit the inner damper springs or omit the cups and use as is.

Be sure and get the machine shop to check the installed spring height. Very important.

like UNGN said, I tossed the inner damper and reused the outer cup. It set up at 90 lbs on the seat @ stock installed height. IMO thats good enough to eliminate valve float but not enough to wipe the lobes off the cam. (That's with proper break in of coarse)

Oh another thing- with my comp 980's, the inner damper stacked solid at full lift on the cam. That's another reason I didn't use the inner damper.
