Here's a tip. Try to keep the trunk as closed as possible when you're taking the nuts off. If for whatever reason they fall out of the socket before you get them totally out then they will only fall a few inches to the rear of the trunk lid. From there you can fish it out with a magnet. If you have the trunk at a steep angle (fully open) one might slip off and fall all the way to the front edge. Then you'll have to take the trunk lid off the car to shake it back down to where you can grab it. Otherwise you'll always hear that nut clanging around every time you open or close your trunk.
