Trans Temp ?

Just put a new cooler and guage on this weekend after having the trans rebuilt last weekend. Has a PTC Converter from Chris Hogeland and a CK billet servo and usual rece band and clutches. I haven't driven it much but I have noticed that my temp guage might just come off peg, but doesn't even get to 100*. I have the sensor mounted in the return line after the B&M cooler. Temps have been no warmer than 60* outside though. Is this normal or is something wrong woth my gauge??(Auto Meter Ultra Lite)

I always put the temp sender in the pan and when racing with a trans brake it never goes over 170 on my TH400. With yours being in the return line and the trans not seeing any abuse and the cool temps I would think it's working fine.
