I have a convertor that is suppose to be a 2800 stall, not sure who's it is. It has sevens stamped on the outside instead of fives like our stock ones. Is this a correct convertor for our cars?

Thanks Chris

If the converter is stone stock, it isn't correct. If it's been built by someone, it's anybodies' guess as to whether or not it's correct. That's because converter builders can reset fin angles and swap stator assemblies among other things; modifications you can't see.

Thanks Mean. I have a stock one sitting next to it and they look the same except one is stamped with sevens. I wasn't sure if you could tell what it was by the number stamped on it. It's suppose to be a 2800 stall, guess I'll find out:eek:
Thanks Chris

D7 Converter

I have an 85 hotair and am converting over to the 87 motor and I found the same thing, my converter has D7 stamped all the way around the converter, I called a few places and no one has an answer to what stall speed it is, If you find out what stall speed it is let me know. Thanks Scott
