Wow things are really shaping up for the Buick Performance Group Class of 1987 event...We have Doug Nigro from GNXRegistry.org doing a power point presentation on the GNX We also have Brad Conley's GNX prototype as well as Rick Hunts GNX and all the information he can provide as well as Luis Infante who was VP at ASC McLaren and owns the car that was used for quality control at ASC. there also some other surprises that the BPG is going after...

we are trying to acquire a GNX engine on a stand from the Sloan museum,. We also have some of the engineers and production staff that were involved with the GN coming back as they had so much fun last year. We also have Lawrence Gustin who authored book on complete history of Buick and also about founders of GM. He is a genius and probably will do a presentation for us on history of Buick. He is getting me in touch with Mike Doble, head person in charge of GNX project and also David S. Sharpe, Chief Engineer of the GNX. Also Rick Hunt who has more GNX prototype and memorabilia than anyone will be there and former VP of ASC McClaren with GNX 000. Also going after Lloyd Reuss former Gen Manager of Buick and who actually became President of GM and his son is now head of N. American operations. He was Chief Engineer of Buick when GN came out as well. Also going after Bill Porter and Wayne Kady who designed the cars and Marty Schorr who wrote GNX book and was big in the PR version. We will have Wayne Sherman to do a presentation on tech for the Turbo cars and hopefully his friend Al Tomka will attend with his 79 Turbo Coupe again and talk about his work as Rod and Piston engineer for 3.8 block.

Just confirmed that Dennis Kirban and Richard Clark will be judging the GNX's and the 1987 Grand Nationals...

Hotel information
The BPG has contacted The Licking County Visitors Bureau and the Heath and Hebron Police Departments to help provide Hotel security. The Hampton Inn and Red Roof Inn will have privately contracted security thru the Licking County Visitors Bureau. The Local Law enforcement will be doing low profile drive by's of the parking lots and Hotels. The Best Place to park your tow rig/car etc is at the Track as there is also security and you will have to provide matching ID/Registrations for anything driven or towed out after track hours. There is no such thing as a fail proof system but owners also need to do there part to secure their own property.

In the early 1970's I put pen to paper and began sketching a car concept. By 1982 the design was set for a forced air induction Buick tribute to the 332nd Fighter Group, the Tuskegee Airmen. There is a nice photo of Tuskegee Airman president, Col. Clayton F. Lawrence and I with the 1982 concept drawing approved by the Claude B. Govan Chapter on New York on that December evening in 2003.

On April 24, 2004; on the 60th Anniversary of the black pilots receiving their first "Red Tail" fighter escort planes; Major General Mike Hall, USAF, Retired, dedicated the Red Tail Buick to the Tuskegee Airmen. 7 original WW 2 veterans traveled 300 miles from NYC; some flown in by Corning Incorporated a major event sponsor. 300 guests cheered as the big blue Buick rolled from the hanger at the Wings of Eagles Discovery Center, Elmira/Corning Airport in NY. My wife Deborah and I triumphantly drove the modified 1969 Electra GSX on to the airport tarmac. It was our HS date car purchased in 1978.

The twin-turbosupercharged "Faithful Pursuit" is the national convention show car of the famed "Red Tails". Unfortunately, the F/P-47 team will be in LasVegas at that time; attending the 41st Annual Tuskegee Airmen Incorporated National Convention. Let me know if there is anything we can do, i.e. sending photos or video, to participate in this fine event.

Looking forward to this event.....it will be lots of fun...

Going to be history in the making. I know Xs are priceless pieces but are any owners interested in some possible bone stock drag races or rather match races? A fellow friend of mine who owns a mint X with low miles was recently approached by a young owner of a 2012 Mustang 5.0 for possible street race. My friend put the line in the sand saying lets go for 5 Bills (Think Mr. Ben Franklin). The youngster ( I am 30 by the way just so you know) insulted my friend saying most likely it was a clone and is a dinosaur of a car. The kid and his buddies laughed and never accepted the challenge. Now this ordeal sparked an idea in my head.

In the heyday of Turbo Regals and also the GNX, the Calloway Vette was spanked by the GNX. It got me to thinking about getting a few GNX vs anything type match races. If enough draw or feedback money will be put in a pot for a winner or winners. One thing missing or lacking in muscle car magazines today is old school run whatcha brung grudge races. No money, not for pink slips, simply for ego, bravado, bragging rights and good bench racing stories.

So how about it X owners? I have one X being driven, NOT trailered from Vancouver B.C. to Columbus. It would be great to see a few of you put the pedal down and represent Buicks as they did some 25 years ago. There is a local owner who has GNX 158 with low mileage 20k? something odd miles and races it locally at Thompson Raceway. He was at a car show this past weekend i was at as well but i could not find him.

Be great to see some come to the track and lay down some rubber!

Talked with Rick today aka X-Ray and he is pumped...just trying to figure out what parts he wants to bring to the Event.
